Irish Film Institute Logo
The Eye Cinema in Wellpark in association with the Irish Film Institute will be screening four titles from the Irish Film Archive – Idir Dha Shaol, Blind Flight, Cinegael Paradiso and John Mc Gahern: A Private World.

The festival, which aims to throw a spotlight on Irish made documentaries and true-life stories will run from Monday 10th of Sept through to Thursday 13th Sept.

All the films are multi-award winning and will give Galway audiences a glimpse of some of the great work that has been done by filmmakers with this genre over the past number of years.

Chris Peters, General Manager of the Eye Cinema commented

‘…it is extremely important to support and highlight the talent that exists in Ireland and to see their work on the big screen.  We see this festival as a celebration of Irish stories  - from Brian Keenan’s experience in Beirut to Willie Walsh’s trials as a homeless man in London. Moviegoers will also get a peek into the life of writer John McGahern as well as seeing Robert Quinn’s encounters growing up in a cinema in Connemara.’
