EYE Cinema, Galway to take part in Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival, 2008.
The EYE Cinema and the IFI are delighted to announce that for the fourth year running the ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ Documentary Film Festival is leaving Dublin and traveling to Galway. This IFI touring package will be shown over three nights (Sept 29th, 30th and Oct 1st) in the Eye Cinema, Wellpark.
At its best, documentary film can give us valuable insights into the lives of individuals, the lives of other communities, into our own lives and our future.
Standard Operating Procedure directed by filmmaker Errol Morris opens the festival in Galway on Monday Sept 29th. Football Undercover – a wonderful exploration of the Iranian women’s football team’s first official friendly match in front of cheering fans – follows on Tuesday night. The screening on the final night is Please Vote for Me. This is a fascinating film focusing on a Chinese primary school’s first encounter with democracy.
All the screenings start at 7.30pm and early booking is strongly advised, as seats are limited. For further information on the films and bookings log onto www.eyecinema.ie or call 091 78 00 78.
For further details/info please call Neasa or Chris at the EYE Cinema 091 780003.
