Duty Manager Full-Time Flexible

As a Duty Manager at The Eye Cinema, you will be a key leader within a fast-paced and dynamic cinema environment. You will oversee a team of staff, you will be responsible for the health and safety of junior team members, patrons and the premises while maintaining smooth operations. This role requires strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure. Candidates should be confident, commercially aware, and have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of people. 
 
Good business and IT/office skills are also important as you will receive digital projection training, you will be compiling daily business reports, you will be answering emails and phone calls, you will be responsible for stock data entry, etc.  
 
You will be required to be flexible in your availability and you need to be able to work a mix of day shifts, evening shifts and weekends as assigned by senior management on the roster. Occasionally you may also be assigned other shifts filling in for roles on the floor (Concessions, Bar, Ushering, etc) where you will be supporting your fellow Duty Managers and junior Team Members. 
 
Previous cinema/retail or venue experience in a similar leadership role is desirable but all relevant training will be provided. Please note that this is a full-time position based in our cinema premises in Wellpark Retail Park, Galway City.  
 
Your duties will include but will not be limited to: 
  
-Complete daily fire walks around the building to ensure fire exits and escape routes are safe and clear of obstructions. 
-Record temperature checks of freezers for HAACP purposes. 
-Report any incidents that may occur during your shift and promptly resolve any issues (i.e. customers' complaints, maintenance calls, staff roster changes due to illness, etc). 
-Give out and cash up staff's tills and keep record of variances. 
-Order stock as appropriate & sign off on stock deliveries. 
-Ensure food counters and vending machines are well maintained and well stocked at any time. 
-Make sure staff presentation is professional and dress code is adhered to. 
-Train up junior staff members when they start working at the EYE Cinema. 
-Take calls on the Duty Manager phone and help the callers with their inquiries. 
-Check the Duty Manager and Info email accounts regularly during your shifts and promptly respond to any emails. 
-Deal with birthday party bookings and calls. 
-Be familiar with our movies and snacks offering or any ongoing promotions and special deals. 
-Be familiar with our sales software and be ready to step in and work at a till behind the counter when needed. 
-Complete a stock take when scheduled and input the results to the system. 
-Have a presence on floor and be there to answer any supervisor/staff or customer queries. Support staff at busy periods by working with them in all areas during busy periods, ensuring queues are managed effectively and quickly. 
-Carry out fire drills with staff when required. 
-Communicate with the other Duty Managers regarding ongoing issues that need follow-up after your shift is completed. 
-Oversee private bookings and screen hires, ensuring all events are managed appropriately and to the highest standard. 
-Support the HR process by conducting interviews, organizing staff contracts, training schedules, and performance reviews. 
-Track staff absences and holidays, ensuring adequate coverage and managing staff workloads during holiday periods or staff absences. 
-Manage staff training logs, ensuring that all mandatory and refresher training is completed on time.

Projectionist & Floor Staff, Full-Time Flexible

We are currently recruiting to fill a full-time flexible 'Projectionist & Floor Staff' position here at The EYE Cinema.

The ideal candidate will have a technical aptitude and basic knowledge in IT and networking as they will be in charge of the smooth running of the projection operations during their shifts while also covering customer facing tasks on Floor (i.e. selling tickets, popcorn, etc. Serving at the Bar. Ushering and actively maintaining high hygiene and cleanliness standards around in our screens, toilets and lobby areas).

While familiarity with digital projection, digital film, satellite broadcast reception, and audio/video equipment is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We will provide you with a comprehensive training in software and hardware operation to ensure your success in this role.

Additionally, previous cinema/retail or venue experience in a similar customer service role is desirable. Candidates must be flexible in their availablity as they will be assigned a mix of day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays.

Floor Staff, Full-Time Flexible

We are currently recruiting to fill a full-time flexible 'Floor Staff' position here at The EYE Cinema.

In this role, you will become part of our dynamic team in a customer facing role looking after our patrons and our premises in different areas. You will be working behind the Concessions counter selling film tickets and cinema snacks, advising our patrons on films and special offers available, serving barista coffees, ice-cream and more. You will be assisting our patrons in finding their way around in the cinema and you will ensure they are getting the best experience while watching the film. You will be looking after the cleanliness and hygiene of the cinema auditoriums, toilets, lobby and Concessions.

Candidates must be flexible in their availablity as they will be assigned a mix of day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and holidays.
